According to a report from E! Online, John Cena has followed in the footsteps of fellow actor, Dwayne Johnson, in the sense that both of them are slowly taking over Hollywood, although, Johnson has been active as an actor for many years now.

In a preview clip of a soon-to-air episode of Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, John claimed that he’ll never leave the WWE behind, however, he will make some changes in the future. Speaking with the host, John claimed one of the great things about the WWE is that you can still “perform in any capacity.”

According to John, as long as he continues working and keeping up with the “current product,” he should be able to continue working for the organization. The star claims his acting career has shifted him away from WWE, which for Mr. Cena, is great because it makes working with them a lot more special.

Moreover, John, who’s now 42-years-old, can no longer handle the training schedule and regular beating that wrestlers typically endure. The wrestler-turned-actor stated that his “body just can’t handle the schedule anymore.”

The star said he woke up one day in the morning, looked in the mirror, and told himself he would have to drop his schedule from 250 performances a year to around 100 per year and opt for quality, rather than quantity.

These days, his schedule has attenuated, even more, going from 250 to 50 performances per year. As it was mentioned above, this wouldn’t be the first time a professional wrestler has turned to Hollywood following an illustrious athletic career.

Dwayne Johnson first started appearing in movies in the early 2000s and has since become one of the most accomplished and successful actors in the industry. Dwayne just finished co-starring in Hobbes and Shaw, which went on to dominate the box office, especially in foreign markets like the Chinese box office.

His career hasn’t been without haters, however, including his Fast and Furious co-star, Tyrese Gibson. Previously, the actor was engaged in a one-sided beef with Dwayne, frequently going on his social media to accuse Dwayne of making the franchise “all about him.”
