Judith Light Uses Plexaderm Rapid Reduction Serum

Judith Light is a gift, as anyone who's watched her work can attest. And while doing press for her new comedy, Shining Vale, Light told Glamour her skincare secret: She uses one of Amazon's best-selling eye serums to keep her under-eyes in top shape while filming. And according to its more than 6,000 five-star ratings, Plexaderm's Rapid Reduction Eye Serum is worth its weight in gold.

Light is no stranger to an extensive skincare routine, with picks ranging from a $25 Proactiv cleanser to a $255 makeup remover (no, that's not a typo). Plexaderm hits squarely in the middle with a $61 tag, and as Amazon's second best-selling eye treatment serum, reviewers can't say enough good things about the "instant results" and "dramatically" tighter skin the formula creates. To use, the brand explains you apply a small dab of the serum on wrinkles and bags, wait 10 minutes without making a facial expression, and watch your lines recede for hours.

Most potent eye creams rely on brightening ingredients and retinol to make a difference, but like the Beverly Hills' Instant Eye Tuck, Plexaderm goes another route with magnesium aluminum silicate and argireline, more technically known as acetyl hexapeptide-8. The former is smoothing, while the latter makes a "significant" difference in wrinkles, according to a 2013 animal study — and in 2002, biochemists found that, like Botox, argireline prevents lines by inhibiting neurotransmitter release.

The only potential negative is that the tightening effect is temporary; as one reviewer described, it's like "Cinderella magic" in that way. "If you have puffy, dark circles under your eyes and you apply a tiny bit of this magic stuff, after about eight [to] 10 minutes, the puffiness and the dark circles are gone," they continued. "[It] takes five to seven years of aging away in almost an instant." À la fairytale, the effects are just for the day — when you wake up the next morning, your skin is back to status quo.

But for many, deleting their eye bags and mouth lines for a few hours is well worth the price. As a 57-year-old wrote, even their daughter said the reduced puffiness, lightened circles, and filled-in age lines were noticeable. Other shoppers said they "cannot live without it" and use it every day, dubbing it a "miracle cosmetic" that never disappoints. "[It] got rid of the bags under my eyes and kept them away all day," commented a penultimate fan, who said it decreased their bags by 90 percent.

A last customer wrote that after spending thousands of dollars on facial fillers, they tried the serum instead and saw "amazing results" that look like they'd just left the cosmetic surgeon's office. Given the temporary, but dramatic difference the serum creates, it's no wonder Light uses it while on camera. If you'd like to try Plexaderm's "Cinderella" serum for yourself, it's $61 at Amazon.
