Keith Urban spotted picking Nicole Kidman up from Sydney airport

June 2024 · 3 minute read

Keith Urban has done the most romantic thing ever and faced Sydney airport two days in a row during peak Christmas madness to pick up his wife, Nicole Kidman.

Urban, 56, popped on one of his best button-ups, some flared jeans that Stevie Nicks would be jealous of and headed to the airport to pick up Kidman, 56.

The country singer was only navigating the airport yesterday with the couple’s teen daughters, Faith and Sunday, in tow.

This is couple goals.

He made his grand return to collect Kidman and Australia’s golden couple kept their sunglasses firmly on as they made it through the busy airport.

Urban was showing his devotion by not doing the classic dad move and waiting in the car under the guise it would somehow save at least $7 in parking fees.

Instead, he collected the Oscar winner and the pair walked out together smiling, holding hands and wearing matching baggy jeans.

It is a sweet gesture, especially when you know you’ll likely be bombarded by paparazzi because Australia has about eight celebrities who are famous internationally, and we tend to obsess over them whenever they return to their home turf.

As a nation, we’ve barely recovered from Margot Robbie, alongside her husband, Tom Ackerley, visiting Mimi’s in Coogee and shouting over 100 guests to a round of cocktails.

Urban and Kidman returning to Australia for Christmas is always going to be big news and the fact they’ve come in hot with some airport PDA is incredible.

The famous couple have always been fans of PDA, and they love a red carpet nuzzle as much as Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker love to kiss with tongue, but battling an airport twice for someone is true romance.

The pair, together since 2005, have always been very upfront about their love for each other.

Urban once described meeting Kidman as not just life-changing but “life-beginning” in a candid chat with CBS News.

He also revealed that the 2019 song Gemini, which features the lyrics, “She’s a maniac in the bed, but a brainiac in her head”, is about Kidman.

In an interview with Inews, he said that Kidman “loves” the song and was born from his co-writer asking what she was like and he said, “that’s what came out.”

Kidman told The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she found the lyrics “embarrassing” but also saw it as a compliment.

“It is embarrassing but at the same time, yes, it’s better than saying, ‘God, I’m so bored … make an effort, Nicole,” she joked.

Meanwhile, Kidman has always spoken highly of Urban, often declaring him the love of her life and revealing to Harper’s Bazaar that they make their relationship work by switching off together.

“Keith and I are excellent at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that’s very simple, quiet, and nourishing because we’ve made it like that,” she explained.
