While being on the board of Wellesley College in Massachusetts, Vivian serves as CEO and principal of Tamarind Global. Throughout his evidence, Shou took pains to refute this assertion, noting that American citizens make up the majority of TikTok’s U.S. workers and that the app’s data is stored in the United States. Yet, discussions regarding a possible ban of the app continue to take place on Capitol Hill, despite the fact that it is unclear how such a ban would be imposed or what consequences it could have.
