We’ve said on many occasions that Nathan Sykes could sing anything and it would sound glorious. An impromptu cover that’s just popped up on his Twitter page has proven us right!
A short while ago, Nathan asked fans if they were ready for a surprise. Many were hyped up, perhaps expecting further details about his debut album. However, we’re still waiting for that as Nathan actually dropped a ‘shouldn’t work but it totally does’ cover of the Pokémon theme song!
The ‘Give It Up’ singer decided to cover the song in celebration of the Pokémon Go craze which has captured the world recently. Everyone loves a bit of nostalgia, so get ready to fall in love with Nathan’s soulful version.

The idea of anyone covering the Pokémon theme song is bizarre and it could have been disastrously cringey, but Nathan actually nails it beautifully. Our childhood soundtrack has been reinvented into an emotional and heartfelt ballad, which is appropriate for when we fail to catch any new Pokémon. This cover is actually mind blowing, and a credit to Nathan who’s proven that he really can sing anything with his insane vocals!
We’ve spent the past few weeks singing the classic theme song whilst trying to catch Pikachu, but now we’ve got a brand new version stuck in our heads. Cheers Nath!
Aside from covering this iconic theme song, Nathan has been a busy bee recently. He is currently in the middle of his #GetSyked project, where he will be surprising fans across the world. He has already delivered surprises to lucky fans in Hong Kong and the Philippines. It has also been announced that he will support Alessia Cara on her Know-It-All Tour Part 2.
