Toffees can come out on top
Everton have won their previous two away games and can make it three on the spin at Nottingham Forest tonight.
The Toffees are in the relegation zone after their 10-point deduction for alleged financial irregularities and a trip to the City Ground is never an easy assignment, but they have shown plenty of good signs under boss Sean Dyche in the past couple of months.
Forest are 15th and nine points better off than their opponents because of their opponents’ penalty but have only won three of their 13 games so far this season.
Everton’s 10-point deduction means they are facing the prospect of another relegation fight this season, but they will be determined to pull together over the winter to try to move clear of the bottom three.
The Toffees have won their previous two away matches, beating West Ham 1-0 and Crystal Palace 3-2, and had gone four games unbeaten before going down at home to Manchester United 3-0 last weekend.
That result was harsh on Dyche’s side as they had a better xG and more shots on target than the Red Devils. They can get the better this evening of a Forest side that were beaten 3-2 at home by Brighton last time out.
Nottingham Forest vs Everton tip 1: Everton to win @ 6/4 with Sky Bet
Plenty of action expected at the City Ground
Both teams have been involved in high-scoring games lately, suggesting that goals will be on the agenda in the East Midlands tonight.
Everton won 3-2 at Selhurst Park in their most recent away trip and Forest have been part of five-goal thrillers in their previous two matches, going down narrowly to both West Ham and Brighton.
Steve Cooper’s side have only kept one clean sheet at home this season – when they were impressive 2-0 winners over Aston Villa – so Everton will be confident of breaching their hosts’ defence.
Nottingham Forest vs Everton tip 2: Over 2.5 goals @ 1/1 with Sky Bet
McNeil a goal threat for visitors
This is expected to be a closely fought game with goals at both ends. Forest have scored in four of their past five matches, as have Everton, so backing both teams to score as part of a bet builder seems a good place to start.
Adding in at least three corners to the mix for the visitors boosts the price further. The Toffees, who racked up six corners in defeat against Manchester United, were awarded two against Palace and three in the previous game against Brighton so they should earn around three at Forest.
The final selection for the bet builder is a Dwight McNeil goal for Everton. The 24-year-old winger has yet to score this season but was an important scorer last term, netting seven times to help the Toffees stay up.
McNeil has attempted at least one shot in each of his past five games and managed shots on target against both Palace and United in his previous two outings.
So a goal for the former Burnley wideman, whom Dyche will be relying on to cause the home defence problems, appears to be close.
Nottingham Forest vs Everton tip 3: Bet builder: both teams to score, 3+ Everton corners and Dwight McNeil to score anytime @ 7/1 with Sky Bet
