Prince Harry Was Cheerful on His Flight From the U.K.

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Last week, Prince Harry hopped across the pond to return to his home country of England to pay his dad a visit after Buckingham Palace shared that King Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer. Now, People reports that the Duke of Sussex was "cheerful and all smiles during his flight back to the U.S." and was "engaging in lively conversations with staff and fellow passengers," which may be a clue to anyone wondering what exactly is going on with the King of England.

The royal family shared the news of King Charles's cancer on Monday, Feb. 5, and by Tuesday, Harry was in the air and on his way to see his dad. Harry spent less than an hour with his father before the king took a helicopter to Sandringham. Harry was back in the air shortly after. People reported that the king made personal calls to Harry, his brother William, and other members of the royal family to inform them about his health before the public was made aware.

Sources close to the royals hope that Harry's trip is an indication that he may be open to bringing his children to see their grandfather.

"That is good," a source told People. “Hopefully [Harry] will bring the grandchildren at some point too, as that would be lovely for all of them."

Harry's post-England schedule included a stop in Las Vegas ahead of the Super Bowl. He made an appearance at the NFL Honors ceremony and was on hand to present the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward.

"Good evening, NFL," he said during his time at the podium. "It's an honor to be with you all tonight." Additionally, Harry joked about how Americans “stole rugby” from the English and “made it your own."

"All you guys do on and off the field is truly remarkable," he told Heyward at the ceremony.
