The most dangerous parts of Camden to live in according to police data

The  Metropolitan Police  has published the latest  crime  statistics for May 2019 which breaks down the level of crime across all London boroughs.

Although it can be worrying to see the number of offences reported on the streets you walk every day, it's a good way to understand the types of crime in your neighbourhood and perhaps put your concerns to your local councillor or police officer.

The statistics break down the number of crimes in each area, the types of crimes that are committed and how many were reported.

Crimes  most frequently reported include violent and sexual offences, theft, anti-social behaviour and many others.

These are the top five most dangerous parts of Camden  according to police data.

5.  Regents Park - 356 reported crimes

People reported 356 crimes in the area of Regents Park that belongs to the borough of Camden in May 2019.

A large proportion were different types of theft.

There was also a high number of incidents of antisocial behaviour.

4. Camden Town and Primrose Hill - 408 reported crimes

There were 408 crimes reported in Camden Town and Primrose Hill in May, with 79 being violent or sexual offences and 75 being antisocial behaviour.

There was also 27 reported burglaries, 38 instances of theft from the person and 14 vehicle crimes.

3. St Pancras and Somers Town - 409 reported crimes

This policing neighbourhood saw 409 crimes reported in May 409 - making it the third most dangerous according to police statistics.

The vast majority of these crimes were types of theft but there was also a worrying 73 violent and sexual offences reported.

2. Bloomsbury - 635 reported crimes

A worrying 635 crimes were reported in Bloomsbury in May alone. A high proportion were different types of theft, with bike theft, shoplifting, robbery, theft from the person, burglary and other theft constituting 430 of these crimes.

However, 52 violent or sexual offences were reported plus 84 instances of antisocial behaviour.

1. Holborn and Covent Garden - 697 reported crimes

This area of Camden saw 697 crimes reported in May.

A total of 137 of these offences were antisocial behaviour, 89 were theft from the person and 61 were violent or sexual offences.
